    Record- Breaker Ishan Kishan Surpasses Sachin Tendulkar in Thrilling 2nd IND- WI ODI   

    Ishan Kishan made history by getting the youthful Indian cricketer to score a partial century in a One Day International (ODI). In the thrilling alternate India- West Indies ODI, the 21- time-old batsman surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record to achieve this feat. Ishan Kishan scored a remarkable 56 runs off just 32 balls, with five boundaries and four sixes, to lead the team to palm.   

    1. Who’s Ishan Kishan?

    Ishan Kishan is a youthful Indian cricketer who has been making waves in the cricketing world with his explosive performances on the field. Born on July 18, 1998, in Patna, Bihar, Kishan started playing cricket at a youthful age and was soon  honored for his exceptional gift.

    He made his debut for Jharkhand in 2016 and was later picked up by the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2018.  Kishan’s career has been on an upward line ever since. He has impressed players and critics likewise with his intrepid approach to the game and his capability to hit big shots.

    In the 2021 edition of the IPL, he scored 516 runs at a normal of 57.33 and was one of the name players of the event.  Now, Kishan has made captions for his record- breaking performance in the 2nd IND- WI ODI, where he surpassed the fabulous Sachin Tendulkar with his 84- run knock.     The alternate One Day International (ODI) match between India and West Indies on July 25th, 2021, was a thrilling and nail- smelling game of cricket. The match took place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana and saw India win the toss and handpick the club first. 

    India set a target of 269 runs for the West Indies, with blessings from the top- order batsman Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant. In response, the West Indies plodded in the morning, losing lattices beforehand. Still, Nicholas Pooran and captain Kieron Pollard sustained the innings with some excellent form, keeping the West Indies in the game. 

    Despite the late fightback from the West Indies, India’s bowlers managed to keep their jitters and ultimately won the match by 49 runs. It was a pivotal moment for India as they now lead the series 2- 0 with one game remaining.  Still, the highlight of the match was the debutant Ishan Kishan’s inconceivable fur performance, which broke several records. His excellent innings helped India post a  grueling  target for the West Indies and made him a name player of the match.   

    3. Ishan Kishan’s Record- Breaking Performance

    Ishan Kishan, the youthful left- handed batsman, put up a stimulating performance in the alternate IND- WI ODI match, breaking records left and right. Coming in at number two, Kishan set the stage on fire with a spectacular 59 off just 42 balls.

    He ended up his half- century with a massive six and went on to hit an aggregate of five boundaries and four sixes.  But Kishan did not stop there. He became the fastest Indian and the alternate-fastest overall to reach 50 runs in a T20I debut. His 50 came in just 28 balls, smashing the former Indian record of 32 balls held by Ajinkya Rahane. 

    Kishan also became the youthful Indian batsman to hit a half- century in his debut T20I match. This is a remarkable feat that surpassed the likes of legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.  Kishan’s exceptional performance has truly left a print on players and critics, sparking conversations of an implicit future megastar in the timber.   

    4. Comparison to Sachin Tendulkar’s Record 

    When we talk about cricket in India, the name Sachin Tendulkar is always in the discussion. The Little Master has set records that numerous studies were untouchable. Still, in the thrilling 2nd IND- WI ODI, Ishan Kishan proved that indeed Tendulkar’s records can be broken.

    Kishan smashed a brilliant 56 off just 32 balls, surpassing Tendulkar’s record for the fastest fifty by an Indian in their debut ODI.  Tendulkar had achieved this feat against New Zealand in 1989, taking 37 balls to reach his half- century. Kishan’s stirring knock saw him break this record by five balls, earning him a spot in the history books.

    While it’s still too early to compare Kishan’s career with Tendulkar’s fabulous term, it’s clear that the youth is one to watch. With his emotional performance in the 2nd ODI, Kishan has cemented his spot in the team, and players cannot stay to see what he will do next.

    As anticipated, Ishan Kishan’s record- breaking performance in the 2nd IND- WI ODI has caused a stir on social media. Twitter was aboil with responses from cricket players, judges, and indeed some former cricketers.

    Ishan Kishan’s performance in the 2nd IND- WI ODI has clearly elevated his status as a cricket player. His record- breaking score of 50 out just 28 balls has set him apart from the rest and has surely caught the attention of cricket players around the world.

    The fact that he has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record only adds to his formerly emotional character.  Kishan’s performance in this match may have set a standard for him going forward. players will now anticipate nothing but the stylish from the youthful cricketer in the future.

    Still, it’s important to note that this performance was just one game, and Kishan still has a long way to go in his career.  Going forward, Kishan must maintain his focus and work on his sins to cement his position in the team.
